I am a clinical psychologist, specializing in psychotherapy, with a private practice in downtown Portland. I have been practicing since 2005 and licensed in Oregon since 2010. I have over ten years of professional experience working with adult clients with diverse backgrounds and identities. My doctoral training was at the George Washington University in Washington DC and I completed additional training at the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis and through the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis in LA. Prior to my career as a psychologist, I was a criminal intelligence analyst at the United Nations International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague as well as in Sydney, Australia. From 2007 I worked in college mental health at Reed College where I was the clinic coordinator/training director from 2013 to 2018.
I am originally from Australia and have lived in the U.S. since 2004.
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, and my clinical approach is also strengths based, trauma informed, and attentive to emotions and relationships. My work is oriented by a social justice perspective. I work with people of varying racial, cultural, religious, sexual, and gender identities and have worked with many people who are genderqueer, trans or non-binary. My style is collaborative, warm and non-judgmental. I encourage my clients to explore how their past experiences and relationships are impacting their lives and what role they play in the present. My goal is to help people make lasting and positive changes to their lives.
I have experience addressing depression and anxiety, loneliness and isolation, inhibition, trauma, chronic distraction, relationship issues, life transitions, and issues relating to family, reproduction, parenting, identity, and sexuality.
